Brand identity and website design for Australian broadcasting company Southern Star Entertainment.
A ‘Candy-pop’ style was carried through the design to speak to the main audiences who were girls aged between 8 to 14 years old.
Description
“a gURLs wURLd” is a fantasy/adventure television series about three young teenage girls — one German, one Singaporean and one Australian — who become friends while studying together at school in Singapore. The girls are united by their bright, lively personalities and by their common interest in contemporary dance — an activity in which they all excel. With the end of the school year however, they suddenly realise that things are about to end as two of them must return to their homes in Germany and Australia. To their delight and amazement though, the girls accidentally discover that their mobile phones and computers can combine to physically transport them via a “chatroom” into each other’s houses. From then on it’s fun, mayhem, adventure (and a little romance) as the three teens spend their days moving freely between Singapore, Germany and Australia.

Together with Ark Industries, Creative Lurking designed and produced the entire series of cap merchandise sold at the 2009 Singapore F1 Grand Prix. Cap designs were mainly made in collaboration with the styles and technology from giant cap company Flexfit.

Having participated in 1997, it was a personal joy to earn the opportunity to design the National Street Soccer League (NSSL) for 2009. For the first time after 12 years, registration for the tournament became an online-only process, hence a online registration portal follow suite together with a artistic overhaul (Poster of the 2008 tournament in gray below). For years the NSSL had been pretty much ‘designless’ and it really took very little to convince the committee to approve the design proposal. The result, a very satisfied designer and a very pleased client.

Referencing from the success of adidas Japan — adiRepublic of Runners, the visual concept was made to look different by adopting a localized colour theme that reflected both Singapore and the adidas (running) brand.
