It’s a common association that working in-house is an inferior option compared to working in a full-fledged design studio or agency, however being at my current job has found certain rewards. The environment has changed completely compared to Singapore where I was an external party servicing clients, and I find that a very beneficial change.
Converting the nocturnal lifestyle into a regular 9 to 5 one is one thing but after having been in Cambodia for nearly a year now, I’ve got to see how business works and how design plays it’s part in it. Running my own business back in Singapore had really helped and it’s been a great experience thus far applying myself everyday although it really does get a little crazy when seasonal events like Christmas just around the corner.

One day studio shoot in Ho Chi Minh City with Nguyễn Ngọc Kiều Khanh (Miss Vietnam World 2010) for NagaWorld Cambodia. It happened really quickly, we got the deal to sign her as a brand ambassador and immediately we had to squeeze a photo-shoot in despite her super tight schedule before she flies to Sanya, China for the Miss World 2010 competition.
Good luck Khanh!

Entry for Positive Posters – International Poster Competition. Thought I’d have some fun from the everyday lifestyle.
Description:
Time heals all wounds (even so for the adversaries), that’s why sometimes all we have to do is to take things easy and patiently wait for things to be okay. I used a Pac-Man spoof from the perspective of the ‘baddies’ to convey a message that optimism is for everyone. The poster illustrates the red ‘baddie’ exuding some love to his buddy who’s feeling miserable after Pac-Man ate his large coin. Well, no worries because everything will be just fine!

One highlight being away from Singapore has really got to be the captivating culture and tradition of Cambodia. Among the vast array of temples (a.k.a. ‘Wat’) in Cambodia, there is one temple just an hour’s drive away from Phnom Penh and it’s called Wat Phnom Reap. According to my tour guide, Wat Phnom Reap is dubbed as a recreation of the great Angkor Wat. I was awed by its incredible detailing of the bas-relief — Simply breathtaking.

After massive deliberation, I’ve finally bought the Apple Macbook Air. Works out to be a little slower than expected but I know I’ll get used to it. Oh! and I’ve also ordered the AirMail from Manila Mac! To my clients (and prospective ones), I say to you one thing — Prepare to be impressed!
